PoG Skidding System

AME were engaged by Diamond Offshore and Woodside Energy Limited to design, fabricate and install an equipment handling system that would cater for the various hardware components, and schedule constraints of the Perseus over Goodwyn (PoG) project.

Project Profile:

Client:
Woodside Energy Limited and Diamond Offshore Drilling International
Location:
Ocean Bounty
Project Duration:
12 months
Date:
November 2005 - December 2006

Project Summary:

Subsea completions equipment for the PoG campaign was deployed from Diamond Offshore’s MODU, the Ocean Bounty.

AME developed a skidding system that allowed equipment to be transferred from under the port hatch of the rig to the centreline of the moonpool, without utilising the overhead BOP cranes.

To ensure the installation of the system was carried out off critical path, temporary steel work components were also supplied to allow completions operations to commence prior to the installation of the new skidding system.
